I'm not dead, I swear.

Even though no one reads my blog, I feel I need to explain myself. Now that I have a job, it's been a surprisingly busy summer. I've actually been sketching a lot, but because of a lack of stable internet in my new apartment, I don't have the means to update anything. I guess what I'm trying to say is, pretty soon I'll make a giganteriffic post full of all the crap I've been working on in the past few months.
Later, space cadets.

Much better stuff came out of this class, if I do say so myself. This first project is showing a positive and negative side of love. In this case, it's the love of Jesus.

Teehee.

Next we have a neat idea. Choose a phrase that rhymes with your full name and illustrate it. Ehh, they're supposed to be giant monsters on some alien planet, but I don't think it comes across so well.

Here are two gods, Coyote and Tezcatlipoca. One is a Native American god of mischief, and the other is an Aztec god of the underworld. They were supposed to be for an alphabet book project, but it's not as finalized as i would have liked.

The final project was, as you can guess, album art. We were each assigned to a band or artist and had to create a CD cover/insert, disc art, a poster, and a t-shirt design. My t-shirt was kinda crappy, so here's everything but. I worked sooooo long on this stuff.

Wow, I made this post sound really lame. Umm, . . . thanks for looking!

Illustration 1

My first class with DK, and oh what fun it was. Here we have the onamatopoeia project, the album cover project, and the final, the DVD box art project. That green thing toward the bottom is the cover of the DVD booklet insert. It's a cartoony replica of Cecilia Lisbon's diary from the Virgin Suicides. I'm not satisfied with the text on that last one (I kinda ran out of time). My personal favorite: the red dead unicorn.
But it's so sad. The Unicorns only had one album, and they broke up before I had even heard of them. Still, they were
amazing. Look em up and give a listen. It's like molten gold being poured into your ears.

Narrative Illustration stuff

There was very little good work that came out of this class. From day to day it was fun, but I hated most of the projects. Here's the best of the best. The brightly colored ones are book illustrations for Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The last one is inspired by a short story called The Rocking Horse Winner.

General Note

By the by, the links at the right are not all people that I know personally, but people that I want to promote because they're all AWESOME.

Thank you.
Here I have some drawings from last summer. I really don't like them now, but at the time I was training to be a caricaturist in New Hope, PA. I was pretty proud of them. As you can see, I have some pretty big names in here . . . below the White Stripes are the members of the Smashing Pumpkins. I drew most of these from CD inserts in the ice cream shop I worked at. 2nd from the bottom is the destroyer goddess Kali. To contrast, the last pic is an Illustration 1 project; a very photorealistic Anthony Hopkins.

Ok, ok, another update. I have SO much work to show, but I hardly ever make time to update this thing. I apologize for that.
The temptation to post my most recent stuff is very strong, but I'm gonna go more-or-less chronologically with my posts from now on.
Here's some tasty (albeit a little stale) goodies.

The first few are from various life drawing classes, with the most recent ones toward the top.

I'll post more later, honest injun.
